Natural Stone Paving and Patios

We work with a range of materials including limestone, Indian sandstone, granite and slate, and where customers want a traditional look that’s in-keeping with the natural area, we use stone from the local quarry.

SLEEK, CREATIVE, PRACTICAL
Resin Patios and Pathways
Either on their own or in conjunction with stone, concrete, brick or porcelain paving, resin patios are becoming increasingly popular due to their smart, seamless finish, long durability and low maintenance requirements.
They suppress weed growth, whilst still being permeable, so you don’t get pooling and puddles on your patio. Once the groundwork is prepped, they are also much quicker to install than some other patio and paving solutions.
There are over 30 natural stone colour options, which can be used alone, or combined for your own bespoke tone and style. We also work with coloured and glow in the dark aggregates for something a bit different and a bit special!

Patios and Paving FAQs
Do all patios need drainage?
This depends on the product and the ground conditions.
Resin bound stone for a patio is great as it’s porous and the surface rainwater passes through very quickly.
Paved areas would normally be laid with a sufficient fall away from the property. If the area requires a fall towards the house then channel drainage would be required which we can quote for as an optional extra.
We use ACO linear channel drains, which interconnect and look really smart. These drains act as a barrier between the house and the paving. The water runs into the self contained channel which is then connected into the same drains used for your gutters.
What are the benefits of porcelain over sandstone paving?
Porcelain will cost 30 to 40% more than, for example, a riven Indian stone patio, but the benefits include.
- Less maintenance – porcelain doesn’t fade and isn’t susceptible to algae and staining as it’s not porous.
- Available in anti-slip. Some sandstone, especially sawn, can be slippery especially in winter. York stone paving is renowned for being quite slippery when wet in winter.
Porcelain properly laid will last 15-20 years and its longevity and wide variety of colours and finishes have made it the number one choice for so many homes and workplaces.
